Fun with Fiber One Chewy Bars

School is out for the summer!

Just because the kids don't have to be in school doesn't mean that we spend much time at home.  From the pool, to the library, to the local amusement park, we are constantly on the go.  For us, being busy means that the girls are going to get hungry in the least convenient (aka most expensive) places.  To help keep hunger at bay so that we don't eat out too often during the summer, I always have snacks in my purse.  Some of my favorite packable snacks are nuts and granola bars.  They seem to do a good job of taking the edge off when hunger sets in without filling the girls up too much between meals.

The girls have loved the Fiber One Oats and Chocolate granola bars for a while now, so we were very excited to try these new varieties.  The Fiber One Chewy Chocolate Bars were a big hit.  Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference between the Oats and Chocolate bars we were used to and the new Chewy Chocolate bars we were sent.  The Fiber One Chewy Strawberry PB&J Bars were a different story.  These bars definitely seemed to have a unique flavor.  In our house, we either loved them or hated them.  Pumpkin, my more adventurous eater and PB&J lover, really liked them.  Peanut was not a fan.  Doc, who also loves PB&J (but prefers grape jelly), didn't really like them either.  He didn't hate them enough to not eat it, but it wasn't something he would choose if given an option.  I actually didn't get a chance to try them.  They just never sounded that appetizing to me, so when I finally decided that I should try them for the review, I found that they were all gone!

I am a wannabe decorator.  I can spend hours in furniture and design stores looking at sofas, beds, chairs, pictures, and other trinkets.  Once I find a piece that I really like, I will spend the next several months looking for more furniture and accessories that I think would look great with it.  In reality, I might not buy any of it.  However, I'm always thinking about how I might redecorate if I had all the money in the world and no other opinions to consider.

Recently, I was browsing online and I ran across OceanStyles.com.  All I can say about this site, is that I could easily spend a paycheck or two there.   Living on the lake, I like light beachy looking decor.  When people come to visit, I want them to feel like they're on vacation.  In a dream world, I'd like to feel like I was on vacation every day too.  I can guarantee that if I walked outside everyday and saw this adorable Tiki Bar, I would feel like I was on vacation.   Even more so, if I was drinking out of these fun glasses!  In addition to furniture and glasses, I absolutely love their wooden and tin signs.  When I was browsing them, I had a really hard time picking just one. 

While I haven't purchased anything from OceanStyles.com yet, I think I might have to try them out soon.  If you get anything from them, please let me know the quality and customer service.  I'll be sure to do the same if/when I order as well.

Cheerios - Good Stuff Made Better

If you are a regular reader of my blog, then you know that we are a Cheerios family.  It is a rare event that you would look in our pantry and not find a box of one variety or another of Cheerios.   While we almost always have regular Cheerios, we also like to mix it up with some of the more flavorful varieties.  Peanut's current favorite is Frosted Cheerios while Pumpkin is sweet on Apple Cinnamon.   The kids don't know it (Shhhh!), but I love to mix the regular Cheerios with the more sugary varieties that they prefer to cut down on their empty calories and make those boxes last a little bit longer.

With as many Cheerios as we go through, I am always looking for the best deal.  While I can often get them at a great price by combining a sale with a coupon, that isn't always the case.  When I can't find a great deal, I like to buy the big value boxes.  So, when MyBlogSpark and General Mills sent me 2 of the NEW 2-box value packs like the ones you can find in club stores like Sam's, in exchange for me sharing some information with you, I was thrilled.  Four big boxes of Cheerios will last our family quite a while!
