Wordless Wednesday - Weird Winter Weather

Would you ever guess that these were taken only one day apart?  What an odd winter we've had this year!

Wordless Wednesday - Valentine's Day Crafts

The girls have been working hard on their Valentine's Day cards for their classmates.  Pumpkin wanted to give Tootsie Pops, so we made butterflies for each of her classmates.  Peanut wanted to give Smencils, so we made flowers for her friends.  So far I think they turned out really cute!  What do you think?

*If you have Valentine's Day ideas, please link to them here.  I'm always looking for fun new projects for my girls.  You may remember that last year we made heart shaped crayons

Wordless Wednesday - What animal is this?

I'm told we have coyote where we live . . . this doesn't look like a coyote to me.
Some people swear they've seen a red fox wandering around . . . this doesn't look red to me.
Does anyone know what this animal is?

Wordless Wednesday - What in the world are they doing?

The other day, Doc and I looked out the window and saw this . . .

It looks like they are parasailing on the ice. I've never seen anything like it before and it had me wondering a couple things -
1 - What are they wearing on their feet? Ice skates? Shoes? Boots?
2 - What happens if the wind takes them over a part of the ice that isn't solid?
3 - How do you stop?

If anyone has done this before and has any insight, please let me know. I'm thoroughly intrigued!

Wordless Wednesday - Wonderful Winter Sunset

While this might not be the best picture, I absolutely love it.  Even in the Winter, we have the most gorgeous sunsets.  Look at the branches on the trees.  All of the ice crystals make it look like the trees are decorated with Christmas lights.

(Never) Wordless Wednesday - The Final Temptation

Over the past month we have celebrated the birthdays of my niece, my dad, my sister and Pumpkin.  Between that and all the Halloween goodies, treats have been calling my name, just asking me to eat them.  This past weekend we gave all our Halloween candy to our neighbors.  This lone cupcake is my final temptation in the house.

Wordless Wednesday - Missing the Sunny Summer Days

I was looking through some of my pictures and ran across this image of the girls on their first jet ski rides.  With the weather being gorgeous (but the water being cold), I'm missing the sunny summer days.

Wordless Wednesday - Wind Whipped Tomatoes

You may recall my lovely green tomatoes and gorgeous yellow flowers from my July Thankful Thursday post. While it seems like only yesterday, it has been two months. My tomato plant provided us with some delicious tomatoes, but I'm sad to say I think it is almost done. Fall has quickly come upon us and these tomatoes tell the tale with their sparsity of leaves, limp limbs and glimpses of brown.  So long summer.

*Note:  Yes I do know that it is Thursday, but my tech deficient brain couldn't figure out how to get these pictures off my camera (I forgot to insert a SD card).

Wordless Wednesday - The Dog Pleas Continue

Auntie Em brought her dog over this weekend and the girls just loved him!  I think he probably got more hugs during the brief time he was at our house than he has gotten his entire life.  If the requests for a dog were bad before, I can't imagine what it will be like now.

Wordless Wednesday - Sharing Secrets

I love this picture of my girls sitting on the side of the pool chatting. Hopefully it is just a glimpse of their future together being friends and sharing secrets.

Wordless Wednesday - An empty tire swing

The first day of school . . .
An empty tire swing . . .
A hole in my heart . . .

Who knew I'd miss them so much :o(
